Toyoshina Country Club is located in the hills to the North of Matsumoto City. Like other courses in the area it offers superior service with a fine layout.
Each hole (except the par 4 5th hole) has 2 greens. One set is called “Suzuran”, the other is “Ayame”. The course manager decides daily which greens are to be used that day, depending on player volume, course and weather conditions. With 2 sets of greens it does take a while to get used to the course, but makes for a fun day. There are 2 sets of course marker along each fairway with the different colors reflecting the distance to each set of greens.
Apart form the 2nd hole, the rest of the par 3 holes have gullies or water between the tee and the hole.
Etiquette is important at this course, with tee-shirts, jeans and sandals forbidden. You will be asked to leave.
The restaurant here serves excellent meals (generally included in your green fees), and has a large range of drinks.
Along the course there are 2 staffed canteens, where you can get snacks and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
The clubhouse has large shop, and the locker rooms feature a Japanese Style bathhouse.
Cart are automatic and follow a magnetic strip. They do not have GPS or electronic scoring, so bring your smart phone app if distances are important to you.
Great course with a wide range of holes.
