Tanayama Golf Club
About the Course
We generally play this course en-route to Toyama from Nagano, as it is the first course you come across when leaving the tunnels on the entrance to Toyama Prefecture. Tanayama Golf Club is located about 15 minutes drive from Asahi Interchange on the Hokuriku Expressway. After the round we generally head to Toyama for the night, before playing another course the next day.
This is a quirky course, very hilly, but we have a lot of fun here.
It’s a little bit older, and without some of the modern features of other Toyama Courses like Kosugi, but it is a fun place to play. Do note that as this area is very important to electricity production in Japan, there are a couple of places where high voltage lines run about 50m above the ground around the course.
Staff here are super friendly, and you get smiles all day long.
The course is a little unusual in that it starts with 5 par 4s then 3, 5, 3, 5. There are also a couple of towering lofted tees that offer stunning views. And the 18th hole is once of those iconic holes that has everything.
Although we list the price as approx. 10,000yen on weekdays, we can generally get better deals for most of the year.
Lunch is a tasty fare at a reasonable price, and full bar service is available.
