Noble Wood Club
About the Course
Located about 40 minutes drive north of Niigata City, the Noble Wood Golf Club is one of the most enjoyable places to play golf in the region. A relaxed resort like atmosphere makes for a fun day. Super friendly staff will assist to make this a great day out.
On arrival you’ll probably find a few people sitting in the lobby coffee shop sipping on a cold beer, especially if the weather is nice.
Being located next to the Japan sea, this course is a lot flatter than the courses located in the mountains of Nagano and Toyama.
Unlike the recent trend for carts to be automatic and run along a magnetic course, this course has free drive carts. You are however expected to stick to the cart path and not drive down the fairways.
Both the front and back nine meander out to 5th green (13th green) and then come back in towards the club house. There are no zig-zag holes on this course.
We played this course on a sunny day in June and it was one of the best days of the year. Staff bent over backwards to help out, even bringing a bag full of ice for our drinks for the back nine when we had too many to fit in the cooler box. Even the other players all had smiles on their face.
Definitely a course you come back to again and again.
