Dai Niigata Country Club Izumozaki

Located in the hills above the Japan Sea, about 1 hr 20min drive south of Niigata City, this is a good course to play on arrival or departure.

One of the most scenic courses we have played in Japan with several holes on the front nine offer great views over the Japan Sea. The Club House is unusual in that it has a very Japanese design, with a lot of timber beams.

The front nine (out) is to the South and you take your cart on a bridge over the road. First few holes are quite narrow, but it opens up later in the round.

There are several iconic holes. The 8th is great for the views, while the back nine has a few “bridge over trouble waters” holes, where you must hit over forest or water to get to the fairway (green).

The food in the restaurant is very good, and the whole course has a relaxed, unhurried feeling to it.
