Nagano Keikyu Country Club
About the Course
Located in the hills above Nagano City, the Nagano Keikyu Country Club is a modern upper end course. 30 minutes drive from Nagano Station, or 60 minutes by car from Hakuba.
Each hole has 2 greens, which alternate frequently. The A course is slightly longer then the B course, but it is worthwhile playing the course twice to enjoy both options.
A true in and out course, most of the fairways are tree lined making accuracy very important. However the fairways are wide, and the rough in quite short, especially in spring and autumn.
Open from Late February until the snow falls in December, this course is best visited in spring and autumn, as there are many cherry blossom trees on site, and the sight of the fall colors on Mt Izuna is spectacular.
Unusual in Japan, in addition to the vending machines (free of charge), there is also a beer server located on both the front and back nine. But note that alcohol service is only available on the first nine holes to prevent people from drinking and driving.
If you do wish to drink alcohol the whole round you need to prepare in advance and pick up supplies at a convenience store before arriving at the course.
The food here is very good with a large menu and very tasty dishes. Full bar service is available at lunch
