Azumino Country Club
About the Course
Located about 20 minutes drive from Matsumoto Station and 1 hour from Hakuba, the Azumino Country Club is a high-end golf course. Set in the forest in the Hotaka area, this course is a must for those wishing to enjoy some of the best golf in Japan.
Many of the holes offer great views over the Matsumoto Basin, and with many holes lined with cherry blossom trees, this course is on of the most scenic during the spring months.
As it is located on the lower slopes of the Japan Alps, the lower part of the course (the 5th hole) , is about 200m in elevation below the top of the course (17th hole). This means the 18th hole (par 5) is a fantastic way to finish the course as it is a downhill hole, with water ans sand traps along the way.
The course has a large driving range to warm up on (300yen for 30 balls), as well as 2 practice greens.
There are 2 cafes on the course (after the 4th and 14th holes) where you can get both soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. The lunch menu at the clubhouse restaurant is large and diverse, from simple snacks to full steak meals. Full bar service is also available.
The bath house in the locker room is a natural hot spring, and is an ideal way to end the day.
